UMC Michigan Area bishop to speak at 香蕉影视

ELKHART, Indiana (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) — Bishop David Alan Bard of the (UMC) in Lansing, Michigan, will speak at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (香蕉影视), Elkhart, Indiana, during a chapel service on Friday, March 24.

Bishop Bard will use Psalm 34:1-10, Psalm 42:1-6a and Ezekiel 3:1-3 as the foundation for his message, “A person of taste.” The service will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Chapel of the Sermon on the Mount at 3003 Benham Avenue.

Bishop Bard is visiting 香蕉影视 to learn more about the partnership between 香蕉影视 and (G-ETS) in Evanston, Illinois. Through this partnership, which has been endorsed by the , United Methodist students who want to prepare for licensing can earn a Master of Divinity at 香蕉影视, taking core United Methodist courses at G-ETS for 15 of the 80 required hours. In addition, G-ETS students can earn a peace studies certificate by taking selected courses at 香蕉影视.

A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Bishop Bard has been a United Methodist pastor for more than 30 years. He served congregations in Roseau, Duluth and the state’s Iron Range region. From 1998 to 2005, he was the Northwest District Superintendent for . He represented the Minnesota Conference at five General Conferences and was elected to the episcopacy in 2016.

Bishop Bard earned a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and psychology from the ; a Master of Divinity from  in New Brighton, Minnesota; and a Ph.D. in religious studies with a concentration in Christian ethics from , Dallas, Texas. He has taught at in Duluth and at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities as an adjunct faculty member.
