The Soil and The Seed Project
The Faith Formation Collaborative at Ï㽶ӰÊÓ is pleased to be hosting Sept. 9–11 visit to Elkhart County, Indiana! The centerpiece of their visit is a free community concert at Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Hall.
Project founders Seth Crissman and Greg Yoder also will offer a faith formation workshop for teachers, parents, caregivers and church leaders. The workshop will build on the resources that The Soil and The Seed Project creates that weave together original music, visual art, prayers and thoughtful invitations to theological reflection that grow out of the Anabaptist tradition of Christian faith and practice.
During their visit, Seth and Greg will also perform for and interact with students of Goshen College and Bethany Christian Schools in Goshen.

About The Soil and The Seed Project
Creating music, art and Little Liturgies to nurture faith in Jesus through the ordinary moments of life
The Soil and The Seed Project is a community-supported ministry of the church working for spiritual renewal — in individuals, families and communities — through beautiful, creative resources that help us together turn towards Jesus in the ordinary moments of life.
Founded in 2021 as a ministry of Virginia Mennonite Missions, The Soil and The Seed Project has released more than 165 songs; collaborated with more than 100 musicians, artists and poets; and now shares materials freely with people in more than 140 countries.
Newest collection: Sermon on the Mount
After three years of basing resources around the Revised Common Lectionary, The Soil and The Seed Project’s newest release is the kickoff to a new Bible Memory collection to be released each summer through 2027 (and hopefully beyond).
Released in May 2025, the first installment of the Bible Memory collection focuses on Jesus’ teachings from the Sermon on the Mount. Featuring two discs, the first half sets 48 of the 111 verses of the Sermon on the Mount to music word for word, and the second half includes songwriters responding in poetry, prayer and praise through their original songs.
The companion print resource features 11 weekly liturgies, questions for conversation, beautiful artwork, and lyrics/chords for all 25 songs. Also included are mp3s and PDF versions, including five coloring pages created especially for this collection.
Leadership

Seth Crissman, MDiv, Executive Director of The Soil and The Seed Project, and Greg Yoder, Director of Operations for The Soil and The Seed Project (Goshen College, 2009), have been singing, writing, collaborating, and working together in some capacity since 2010. As songwriters and members of The Walking Roots Band, Seth and Greg visited and performed in the Goshen/Elkhart area in 2013 and 2017. Their work as musicians, special education and music teachers, local missionaries, directors of nonprofit organizations, worship leaders, speakers, gardeners and parents has come together in the work of The Soil and The Seed Project, and they are beyond excited to have the opportunity to share music and connect with the community in Goshen/Elkhart.
