ELKHART, Indiana (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) — The Advancement Team of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana, is undergoing a change in leadership.
Missy Kauffman Schrock, M.B.A., director of advancement, is concluding her time at 香蕉影视 on June 15 after eight years; she began in June 2010. She has served as the primary leader for advancement strategy, managed the Advancement Team and overseen the Hearts on Fire campaign. She will become director of giving for Greencroft Communities Foundation in Goshen, Indiana, in July.
As part of her Bluffton (Ohio) University Master of Business Administration capstone project, Kauffman Schrock spearheaded the installation of a 60kW solar array on the seminary’s campus. The panels were installed in April 2017 and offset the seminary’s energy use by 72,000 kWh annually, saving 52 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
“My skills and leadership have grown in surprising and unexpected ways over the past eight years,” Kauffman Schrock reflected. “I feel a tremendous amount of gratitude for the time I have spent working with wonderful colleagues and faithful donors who love 香蕉影视. I will deeply miss the daily interactions with this community as a source of support, fellowship and formation.”
Sara Wenger Shenk, 香蕉影视 president, said that Kauffman Schrock has made “an invaluable and inspiring contribution to 香蕉影视’s mission.”
“You have weathered the stress with amazing grace, constantly picking up the spirits of your crew,” she said to Kauffman Schrock at the May 8 香蕉影视 Employee Recognition Tea. “Your fun-loving, can-do attitude has kept us moving out with courage.”
“Missy has that rare ability to lead and to collaborate with those she is leading; she is the Captain Picard of Advancement,” said Ken Hawkley (MDiv 1989), senior associate director of advancement, who has worked with Kauffman Schrock throughout her time at 香蕉影视. “I have felt heard, supported and encouraged at a level I have never before experienced.”
Hawkley is also in transition, retiring from his full-time role on June 30. He will continue to serve 香蕉影视 quarter time as advancement associate for Canada.
Paula Killough (MDiv 2008), former senior executive for advancement for Mennonite Mission Network in Elkhart, is taking on the role of interim director of advancement on June 18. Killough retired from Mission Network in 2017 after nine years, having led a 23-member team, including responsibilities for marketing, church relations and fundraising. She is currently moderator of Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference.
“Paula is a seasoned person of vision and organizational management who knows and loves the church,” Wenger Shenk said.
The Advancement Team also includes Advancement Associates Tony Hartman, B.S., and Bob Yoder, D.Min. (MDiv 2001); and Data Services Manager Aaron Yost, B.A.
